Little Rock's Best Kept Secret

Tyler Curtis Scholarship & 5-K Race/Walk Event

Tyler Curtis, son of Randy and Cindy Curtis, symbolized the wholesome image Otter Creek hopes to instill in all its children. Although well known in the neighborhood, Tyler extended his life beyond the boundaries of Otter Creek. After attending Otter Creek Elementary School, Tyler attended Mann Magnet Junior High and Central High School. His involvement with the youth group at Henderson United Methodist Church led to his interest in service-based community outreach.

The scholarships that commemorate his life will be awarded to deserving, community-minded students. They are nonrenewable scholarships with a range of $250 to a maximum $1500 award payable over two semesters to the recipient and his or her selected school. Scholarships in smaller amounts are usually for one semester. They may be tuition aids or book awards. The Tyler Curtis Memorial Scholarship Committee makes all of the scholarship recipient selections.

The Tyler Curtis Walk/Run is a 5-K event held each autumn. The race course winds through the residential streets of Otter Creek. Contact the office for details. 455-2500.
